For our green skip bins, only green waste like fruit and vegetable scraps, palm fronds, twigs and small branches, stumps, branches, tree limbs, lawn clippings and other garden waste are permitted. Woodchip and bark are also allowed, but only if there is no soil attached.
Junk waste is permitted in our 4 Waste Walk-In junk skip bins. So general and household rubbish, which includes furniture, electrical and electronic waste, mattresses, washing machines, fridges, dryers, bed heads, wardrobes, cupboards, carpet and doors are permitted. We also allow mixed waste.
Can I mix the waste in my bin?
A certain amount of mixed waste is allowed in 4 Waste’s Walk-In Junk Skip Bins. Mixed waste can be a combination of green waste, household waste and general waste. The generally accepted load on mixed waste is 50% of heavy waste materials.
Are there materials that should not be in my bin?
There are some materials that are not permitted inside your skip bins and these include hazardous waste like chemicals, liquid pains, and gas bottles, among others. Also hard fill waste such as concrete, rubble, tiles, junk mail, gravel and soil are not permitted.
What is the size of a skip bin?
4 Waste Skip Bins come in three skip sizes; 6 cubic meter capacity, an 8 cubic meter capacity and a 12 cubic meter capacity. Fill levels available are 2m3, 3m3, 4m3, 5m3, 6m3, 7m3, 8m3, 9m3, 10m3, 11m3, 12m3. Our 6 cubic meter skips are each 3m long x 1.8m wide x 1.2m high, while our 8 cubic meter skips are 3.2m length x 1.8m width x 1.9m height – each can be used for 100% green waste, junk removal, or a mixture of both.
